Changing My Career

Today, I received a flyer in the mail advertising a course for.... well, you know the topic of the course doesn't matter.   What matters is I learned about a career that I had never heard of before.  As I was checking the flyer to see how this course would benefit my current career (Speech Language Pathologist), I stumbled upon the career of my dreams.   It combines two of my favorite things:  sleeping and talking.

SAY WHAT?!?!  There's a career that actually uses both of those skills!  Don't believe me?  I snapped a picture.

Yes, a SLEEP-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST!!  Who knew?

I can actually get paid to help others improve their napping skills AND their communication skills.   Dream. Come. True.

Oh my goodness!  As I'm typing this, I realize that what I wished for during speech-language therapy today came true!   One of my students asked me, "If you could have one wish Mrs. W, what would it be?"   My answer?

To have mandated naps every day!

With my new career path -- my wish will come true.

On tomorrow's to do list:
1) Find a college that offers this degree.
2) Convince Hubby that this is MY dream job and NOT his.
3) Hope this blog post brought a smile to someone's face.

On a more serious note:  It's important to have actual, real live people proofread before you print or market anything.  Spell check doesn't catch everything.

  1. Well, now we all know that we are SLPs-sleep-language pathologists. We could have some fun with the term sleep-language methinks......

    1. Tracy - I've actually had people ask me (when I'm wearing a shirt that says "SLP") if "SLP" is short for "sleep".

  2. It definitely brought a smile to mine! It will make those early morning slots so much easier- the sleeping middle schooler gets 100% accuracy!
